Watermark (Enya)

Beautiful relaxing song! There are plenty of covers out there. It helped me to practice the left hand movements in the piano track recording.

It also has some chorus and many vocal arrangements that I tried to emulate using voice synthetizers on the CASIO WK 3800. Later on I added reverb effects.

Cool Edit recorded sesion of Watermark

The pictures on the video are some of my holidays shoots around Mendoza, Argentina and Viña del Mar, Chile.

Total Eclipse of the Heart (Bonnie Tyler)

"Total Eclipse of the Heart" is a song written and produced by Jim Steinman and recorded by Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler for her fifth studio album Faster Than the Speed of Night. Released as a single in 1983, it was the first release from the album and became Tyler's biggest hit.

My girlfriend loves this one a lot, so I decided to lern it and play it to her. I liked to use its original key (I believe Bbm). Downloaded the chords and practiced very much since I have no formal music education.

There are some errors in the middle of the cover, but I was too lazy to correct them at that time. Sorry :) My "live" version is better I guess.

The chords I used:

Turnaround bright eyes
Turnaround bright eyes

Turnaround, Every now and then I know you'll never be the boy
you always wanted to be
Turnaround, But every now and then I know you'll always be
the only boy who wanted me the way that I am

Turnaround, Every now and then I know there's no-one in the universe
as magical and wondrous as you
Turnaround, Every now and then I know there's nothing any better,
there's nothing I just wouldn't do

Turnaround bright eyes, every now and then I fall apart
Turnaround bright eyes, every now and then I fall apart

And I need you now tonight
And I need you more than ever
And if you'll only hold me tight
We'll be holding on forever
And we'll only be making it right
Cause we'll never be wrong

Together we can take it to the end of the line
Your love is like a shadow on me all of the time
I don't know what to do and I'm always in the dark
We're living in a powder keg and giving off sparks

I really need you tonight
Forever's gonna start tonight
Forever's gonna start tonight

Once upon a time I was falling in love
But now I'm only falling apart
There's nothing I can do
A total eclipse of the heart

Once upon a time there was light in my life
Now there's only love in the dark
Nothing I can say
A total eclipse of the heart

Waiting for a girl like you (Foreigner)

"Waiting for a Girl like You" is a song by British-American rock band Foreigner. The distinctive synthesizer theme was performed by the then-unknown Thomas Dolby.
It was the second single released from the album 4 (1981), and was co-written by Lou Gramm and Mick Jones. It has become one of the band's most famous songs worldwide, peaking at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for ten weeks and #1 on Billboard's Rock Tracks chart for one week.On the Billboard adult contemporary chart, the song topped out at #5. In the UK, the song peaked at #8 on the UK Singles Chart.

Definetely one of the top ballads that the eighties brought to life. I fell in love with the fine combination between tender true heart feeling lyrics and nice melody.

This one is easy to try in piano. Here are the chords I used:

Lavender (Marillion)

"Lavender" is neo-progressive rock band Marillion's second single from their breakthrough album Misplaced Childhood. The follow-up to the big UK number 2 hit "Kayleigh", the song was their second Top 5 UK hit, entering the chart on 7 September 1985, reaching number 5 and staying on the chart for 9 weeks. None of the group's other songs have reached the Top 5 and "Lavender" remains their second highest-charting song.

Great all time classic, and one of my favourites from Marillion. It's easy to play, basically you have to repeat the same chords all the way.

Here are the chords I used:

[Intro]

E* - D* - C#* - A*

      E* D*

When I heard the sprinklers whisper
               A*
Shimmer in the haze of summer lawns
                 E*
Then I heard the children singing
                              D*
They were running through the rainbows
                    C#*
They were singing a song for you
                       A*
Well it seemed to be a song for you
